Terms of Sale
These terms apply when you buy a policy pack or the Done-With-You Tailoring service from Sound IT Policies. Please read them before buying. Last updated: 17 October 2026.
1. About Us
Sound IT Policies is a UK business. You can contact us by email:
- New business and general questions: [email protected]
- Help using your templates or Tailoring (including revision requests): [email protected]
- Purchases and download problems: [email protected]
- Invoices, receipts and refunds: [email protected]
2. Who These Terms Are For
Our products are designed for businesses and other organisations. If you buy as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession), you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing in these terms affects those rights, and some clauses below say where consumers are treated differently.
3. What You're Buying
- Starter Pack (£49) and Complete Pack (£129): editable digital templates (Word, PDF and spreadsheet files) delivered by download link straight after payment.
- Done-With-You Tailoring (£295): we tailor the Complete Pack to your business from the information in our intake form, and draft answers to one customer security questionnaire of up to about 80 questions. Delivered by email within 5 working days of receiving your completed intake form and any documents we need, with one round of revisions requested by email to [email protected] within 14 days of delivery. Calls, meetings, on-site work, further questionnaires and implementing technical controls are not included. Available to UK businesses only.
- Fixed price, agreed scope: the £295 price covers the scope above. If you ask for anything beyond it (for example extra questionnaires, extra documents or more revision rounds), we'll give you a separate fixed quote first. Nothing extra is charged unless you accept that quote in writing.
- Prices are in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so we don't charge VAT. Our store provider, Payhip, may show UK or EU VAT as included in the price on digital sales where the law requires it; the checkout shows this, and the price you pay doesn't change.
4. Important: What Our Products Are and Aren't
Our documents are templates and general guidance about IT and security practice. They are not legal advice, not certification or accreditation, and not a guarantee that you'll pass a Cyber Essentials assessment, an audit, a customer questionnaire or an insurance application, or that you comply with any law or contract. You're responsible for checking that the documents fit your business, are accurate, and are actually followed. Cyber Essentials is run by the NCSC and delivered by IASME. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by either.
5. Licence to Use the Templates
When you've paid, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use, edit and copy the templates for the internal purposes of one organisation (your business, including its staff, and its IT supplier acting for you). You may share your completed policies with your customers, auditors, insurers and certification bodies as evidence of your own practices.
You may not resell, sublicense, publish, give away or distribute the templates (or anything substantially based on them) as templates, or use them to provide policy-writing services to other organisations. Copyright in the templates stays with us.
6. Ordering and Payment
Payment is taken in full at checkout through our payment providers. A contract is formed when we (or our store provider) confirm your order by email.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
See our Refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Your Responsibilities (Tailoring)
You agree to give us accurate, complete information on time, and to review everything we deliver before using it. The 5-working-day timescale is paused while we wait for information from you. Don't send us more personal data than we need (see our Privacy notice).
9. Our Liability
For business customers: we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, contracts, business or data, or for any failed assessment, audit, questionnaire or insurance outcome. Our total liability arising from any order is limited to the price you paid for that order.
For consumers: we're responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for business losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited.
10. Problems With Digital Content
If a file is faulty or doesn't match its description, email [email protected] and we'll fix or replace it. Consumers also have their statutory rights to repair, replacement or a price reduction for faulty digital content.
11. General
We may update these terms. The version in force when you order applies. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland can also bring proceedings in their local courts.
